What is Belviq.

In addition to a low-calorie diet and regular exercise, Belviq (lorcaserin hydrochloride), a serotonin 2C receptor agonist, is suggested for the treatment of chronic weight control in people with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above (obesity). Adults with a BMI of 27 or more (overweight) and at least one weight-related ailment, such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol (dyslipidemia), are also permitted to use Belviq.
