Serepax 30 mg (oxazepam)

Serepax 30 mg (oxazepam is a  benzodiazepine used to treat anxiety problems or the effects of alcohol withdrawal. Additionally, it may be used to treat insomnia. There is a generic version of serepax.

Dosage Forms & Strengths

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: liver disease, kidney disease, lung/breathing problems (e.g., COPD, sleep apnea), and drug or alcohol abuse.

The dose will vary from patient to patient. Your doctor will tell you how many tablets you need to take each day and when to take them. This depends on your condition and whether or not you are taking any other medicines.

  • 10mg
  • 15mg
  • 30mg

Visual appearance 30mg – Orange, round tablet, one face convex embossed “30”, opposite face flat with Ezi-split breakline.


Mild/moderate: 10-15 mg PO q6-8hr PRN

Severe, agitation or assoc with depression: 15-30 mg PO q6-8hr PRN

Uses Serepax 30 mg

Oxazepam is used to treat acute alcohol withdrawal symptoms as well as anxiety. This drug is a member of the benzodiazepine pharmacological class, which affects the central nervous system and brain to calm the body and prevent seizures. It functions by boosting the effects of GABA, a certain natural molecule found in the body.

Side effects of Serepax

Tell your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible if you do not feel well while you are using Serepax. Like all other medicines, it may have unwanted side effects in some people. Sometimes they are serious, most of the time they are not. You may need medical treatment if you get some of the side effects.

  • Blurred vision;
  • Tingling or numbness of the hands or feet.
